Titchfield Common electrical store Comet is in the final few days of trading before it closes down on Monday (December 10).
The store, in Southampton Road, is one of the last of the electrical chain’s stores to close its doors.
A large number are closing for the final time this weekend. The Titchfield Common store’s final day of trading will be Monday.
The store is among the 125 store closures already announced by administrator Deloitte in a move expected to result in about 3,000 retail job losses.
Comet went into administration in November. A number of firms are thought to have put forward potential bids for the business, but administrators said they had no option but to start closing stores in the absence of a firm offer for the whole of the business.
Comet was hit by weak high street trading conditions, competition from online rivals and being unable to secure the trade credit insurance needed to safeguard suppliers.
