Tim Hancock got a soaking from his “friends” at the Locks Heath Free Church summer fair – but it was all for a good cause.
Tim, the associate minister at the church, was the most popular choice for a gunging at the end of the summer fair – with a late flurry of donations to the cause.

Six of the team at the church, including senior minister Mark Madavan, were available for selection. Members of the congregation and visitors to the fair had the chance to make a donation to nominate their favourite for a soaking.
Tim was the winner – or loser – with more than £340, and took his soaking in good spirit.
The fair was the first organised by the church on their neighbouring field where they are planning to build a large extension to cater for their growing congregation and the diverse community groups that use the building.
Debs Snook, who organised the fair with hr daughter-in-law Linda Snook, said the idea behind the fair was to raise money for their church extension fund.
“We have never done anything like this before but we are pleased with how it has gone and maybe we will do it again next year,” she said.
